I'm a political psychologist who has been fascinated by the concept of hope for at least a decade. My interest in hope (and its absence) began in 2012 with my first experimental studies on hope inducement. Since then, I've published numerous articles and book chapters on hope and despair as political phenomena and lectured on hope to a wide range of academic and non-academic audiences.
I teach and conduct my research at the Hebrew University, where I serve as a Senior Research Associate at the Psychology of Intergroup Conflict and Conciliation Lab. I am also a Research Fellow at the Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace and a Visiting Scholar at the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution.
I was born and raised in Jerusalem and currently reside with my family in Tel Aviv. Before turning to research and teaching, I worked as a documentary filmmaker and news cameraman covering conflict and war. The nickname Adomi was given to me by a random boy from my neighborhood when I was 10. It kind of stuck.

I love the classroom, I love the students, and I love teaching.
I teach a variety of classes, including undergrad and grad courses in Comparative Politics, IR, Social & Political Psychology, and Peace and Conflict Studies. I teach intro and methods classes and offer a semester-long course on Hope.
I have taught small-size seminars as well as full courses to 60+ students. Mentoring students is perhaps the educational enterprise I enjoy the most. I have experience in advising BA, MA, and Ph.D. students in all stages of their professional development.
אני פסיכולוג פוליטי וחוקר בכיר במעבדה לפסיכולוגיה של סכסוכים ופיוס באוניברסיטה העיברית. אני כותב, מלמד ומרצה על נושאים מגווונים כמו תקשורת פוליטית, דעת קהל, יחסים בין קבוצות, גזענות ואפליה, פוליטיקה מקומית ועולמית, מחשבה ליברלית ועוד.
התופעה האנושיות שהכי מעניינת ומסקרנת אותי היא תקווה. מדוע בני-אדם מקווים? האם לתקווה יש ערך בפני עצמה (גם כשהדבר אליו אנחנו מקויים הוא בלתי אפשרי)? כיצד אפשר לנצל את כוחה של התקווה באופן יותר יעיל?
המשיכה שלי לחקור ולהבין תקווה התחילה ב 2012, כשהתחלתי לערוך מחקרים ניסויים המנסים להשרות תקווה לשלום. מאז פרסמתי מאמרים רבים על תקווה (ויאוש) כתופעות חברתיות ופוליטיות והרצתי למגוון קהלים בתוך ומחוץ לאקדמיה. ספרי החדש על תקווה בזמן קונפליקטים יוצא בקרוב בהוצאת אוניברסיטת אוקספורד.
נולדתי וגדלתי בירושלים וגר עכשיו, עם משפחתי, בתל אביב. לפני שהתחלתי לעסוק במחקר ובהוראה, עסקתי בקולנוע, יצרתי סרטים דוקומנטריים וצלימתי חדשות עבור רשתות טלוויזיה זרות. פעם אחת, כהייתי בן 10, לבשתי כובע אדום לטיול של תנועת הצופים. איכשהו הכינוי "אדומי" נדבק לי מאז.

מי הם בני האדם? איך הם מסתדרים בינהם (או שלא)? ולאן מועדות פניהם? את השאלות האלה אני שואל כל יום כאזרח מעורב וכחוקר נלהב של מדעי החברה. אני במיוחד מתעניין בתקשורת פוליטית, מחשבה ליברלית, מקורות הפסיכולוגים של תופעות פוליטיות כמו גזענות, אפליה, וסכסוכים אלימים וביכולת של המדע לסייע בתיקון עולם.
מעבר למחקריי על תקווה, אני מעורב בפרויקטים מחקריים מדיציפלינות מגוונות כגון פסיכולוגיה חברתית, מדעי המדינה, יחב"ל, ופתרון סכסוכים. אתן/ם מוזמנות/ים ללמוד עוד על המחקרים והפירסומים שלי.
